ABOUT ATIQ

Who is ATIQ?

Throughout my secondary school years, I was an astounding dancer who took part in numerous performances. Furthermore, I was elected to be the Executive Committee of my Co-Curricular Activities (CCA), Modern Dance, after competing in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Competition and performing Speech Day twice. Eventually, I learnt to choreograph and perform several segments of my own dance routine multiple times - demonstrating my incredible talent as a performer.

I was also named Vice-Chairperson of the Senior Class of 2019 and Project Lead of Values-In-Action during my GCE 'N' Level year, indicating that I possess important leadership skills and values.

In 2020, I developed a passion for writing and creating stories, as well as drawing, whilst staying another year in secondary school to complete my GCE 'O' Level. In that year alone, I joined the realm of fanfiction. There, I learnt to read, write and release my now-discontinued fanfictions. As interested as I am in writing, I have also become passionate in helping writers, most specifically non-speaking English fanfiction writers; providing free writing and editing services across multiple writing platforms.

As 2020 came to an end, I sat for my GCE 'O' Level with minimal preparation as I had came into terms with myself that I am no longer interested to venture into the law firm as I had once intended. Aware of the intense competition for students from neighbourhood trying to pursue anything relevant to Law, I chose to give up and stick to writing and illustrating - convincing my parents that I am not interested in studying for College until...

I actually went to college. For only half a semester, I studied in ITE College Central, School of Design in Diploma of Filmmaking. There, I learnt the fundamentals of scriptwriting, storyboarding and the technical works of cinematography. However, after much deliberation, I still choose to leave my education temporarily to pursue my one true dream to becoming a manga illustrator and writer.

Upon leaving college and many friends who aren't supportive of my cause, I began working many odd jobs to fill the period of grief before launching Project 'NEON' in February 2022. Today, I am beyond ecstatic to share, teach, guide and produce as much as I can with my given knowledge and privileges; fighting discrimination against the pursuit of art in Asian society, the financially disadvantaged individuals, and collaborating with those who are equally motivated.

Phew, that's a lot! Now, with all that sharing, I'm sure you got questions right? I'm all ears. So, don't be afraid to contact me because I am widely available to do so by Email, Instagram DMs and Discord. Fill me in whenever you're ready!
